AI Voice Cloning

Scammers use AI to copy a loved one's voice from online videos, then call pretending to be them in distress, asking for money. Hang up and call the person directly.

Caller-ID Spoofing

A call looks like it's from your bank, the CRA, or the police — but the number has been faked. Never give personal info on incoming calls. Hang up and call the official number.

Fake QR Codes

Scammers place fake QR codes on parking meters, restaurant menus, or send them in texts. Scanning can steal your information. Only scan QR codes from trusted sources.

Task Scams

You're offered easy work-from-home tasks for quick cash. Then they ask you to pay upfront fees or share banking details. Real jobs never ask you to pay to work.

Digital Arrest Scams

Callers claim to be police or government agents threatening arrest unless you pay immediately. Canadian police and government agencies will never call demanding payment.
