Have a question? You're in the right place. Here are the things people ask us most. If you don't see your question, email us any time at info@safecircle.ca — a real person will answer.
It's a simple tool that helps you check whether a suspicious message is a scam — before it costs you anything. If a text, email, or link doesn't feel right, SafeCircle Shield tells you whether it's safe, explains why, and shows you exactly what to do next.
Suspicious text messages, emails, links, screenshots, photos, and documents. If someone sends you something and your gut says "hmm," that's what this is for.
No — and we'd rather be straight with you than overpromise. SafeCircle Shield checks messages you can show it: texts, emails, links, screenshots, photos, and documents. It doesn't listen to live phone calls. For phone scams, the safest move is always to hang up and call the company back on a number you look up yourself.
Not at all. If you can copy and paste a text message, or take a screenshot, you can use SafeCircle Shield. It's built specifically for people who don't think of themselves as "techy."
You paste in the message (or send a screenshot or document). In a few seconds you get a clear answer — safe, or suspicious — in plain English, plus the reasons why and the next step to take. No confusing scores, no jargon.
Yes. SafeCircle Shield is live on the App Store now. Download here
Not yet — it's on the way. We'd rather launch it properly than rush it. In the meantime, Android users can use the free Web App in any browser at web.safecircle.ca.
Yes. Go to web.safecircle.ca in your phone or computer's browser and you can start checking messages right away. (One safety habit: always type that address in yourself rather than tapping a link someone sends you.)
Yes — the Web App works on a computer or a phone browser. Note that taking photos or scanning documents with your camera works best on the phone app.
The Web App is free to use. The iPhone app is available on the App Store — check the App Store listing for current pricing. We believe in being upfront: there are no hidden fees, and we'll never surprise you with a charge you didn't agree to.
Privacy comes first here — we know you're often pasting in personal things. Your messages are processed securely to check for scams and are not stored permanently. They are never shared with third parties or used for any purpose other than the scan you requested. For full details, please read our Privacy Policy.
Never. We will never ask you for passwords, banking information, or verification codes — not by email, not by text, not in a message. Anyone claiming to be us and asking for those things is an impersonator. Report it to info@safecircle.ca.
We only use these official addresses: safecircle.ca, web.safecircle.ca, and email from info@safecircle.ca. We don't send you links by text or social media direct message asking you to log in or pay. If in doubt, type web.safecircle.ca into your browser yourself.
Don't reply, don't tap any links, and don't call any numbers in the message. The app will give you simple next steps — usually: block the sender, delete it, and if needed, contact your bank using the number on the back of your card. When in doubt, talk it over with someone you trust before acting.
No honest tool can promise that, and we won't either. Scammers invent new tricks constantly. Think of SafeCircle Shield as a smart second opinion that catches the vast majority and slows you down at the right moment — not a guarantee. Your own caution is still your best protection, and "when unsure, verify directly" never goes out of style.
First: it's not your fault, and you're not alone — this happens to sharp, careful people every day. Then act quickly. Contact your bank, and report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501. Reporting helps protect others, even if your own money can't always be recovered. Don't let embarrassment keep you silent — that's exactly what the scammer is counting on.
Yes, and it's one of the kindest things you can do. Set it up together so they're comfortable using it on their own — it's meant to give them a second opinion they reach for themselves, not to take over. They keep their independence; you both worry a little less.
The two biggest helps are practical: agree on a family "safe word" so no one can fake an emergency call, and make a habit of "let's check it together" with no judgment. SafeCircle Shield gives you both a simple, shared way to do that. And keep the door open — people who feel they can talk about a close call without shame are far safer than those who hide it.
